This 3 year undergraduate degree is entirely in te reo Māori. The major in this degree is te reo Māori and the other subjects studied are all other aspects of the Māori language; written and oral literature and linguistics; research and creative compositions also figure as important components of the degree.Course PapersYear One
Te Reo Māori
These papers are Level 5 papers and are an intensive immersion te reo in order to facilitate your fluency and give you the ability to apply the language across a broad range of informal and formal situations. You will be competent in interpreting in a range of a situations and using te reo Māori in informal and formal conversational modes.The emphasis will be on the practical application of te reo so that you will be able to meet the demands of Year 2 and Year 3 papers where te reo will be the medium of instruction All assignments will be expected to be written or delivered in te reo.
These papers are pre-requisites for students to graduate to the 200 level papers.

Qualification: Bachelor of Te Reo Māori
Delivery: 10 Wananga; 3 consecutive days per month; weekly tutorials, online learning 2012 Wananga Dates
*Monthly learning hours include wānanga, workplace project, supervised tutorial, online learning and field trips. A total of 90 hours learning per month.
